Earth Day goes beyond lawn care in Katy

GROWING up, I was taught Earth Day is all about tree planting so whenever the calendar shuffles to April 22, I would hear about tree service in Houston and Katy as cousins would call and share how they are actively participating in lawn care in Katy. This is a special activity for them since they don’t get to do this on a regular basis considering they have a groundskeeper to maintain their landscape.

While planting trees and stump removal in Houston are things that keep the people there busy, L.A. folks concentrate on other ways to contribute to Earth Day. For instance, we don’t use the computer too long to save energy. Office people prepare their coffee at home in spill-proof tumblers so they don’t have to stop by Starbucks and drink from a plastic glass. We perform general house cleaning making use of green products suggested by cleaning companies instead of hazardous stuff that can easily damage not only your exquisite flooring, leather and what have you but most especially your health.

So, as I’ve matured, my cousins and I have more to talk about now than when I was little. For I realized Earth Day goes beyond tree planting or lawn care.

Happy Earth Day to all!!! Keep a green mind:)
